I am looking at a used klr which has a supertrapp ids2 installed. How do I tell if it is the quiet or racing version?

The cosmetic end-cap and disc assembly needs to be removed...then run a wooden dowel or broom handle into the core. If it goes all the way to the inlet ... it's a "race" core. If it goes in an inch or two and stops ... it's a "quiet" core.

Aside from the noise level, is there any diff between the race and quite version?
