Is there a way to just get the heat shield where the pipes come together? Essentially the third piece... not the head pipe pieces, but the last one before the muffler, I guess. I know that isn't very descriptive, but I am looking for it for my friend and I'm not too savvy with the exhaust terms. We only need that piece... Any help would be appreciated.

I believe you are looking for the "collector" heatshield, which covers the headpipe collector and inlet/clamp area of the muffler and ties the front and rear shields together.

Yes, component parts can be purchased. P/N 051-7448 is the collector heatshield for system P/N 828-71453.
