ThunderMax Auto Tuner
Dear ST,
2010 HD FLHTCU 96 with 510 S&S Cams, K&N Hi-Flo, V&H X-Pipe, and of course the ST slips-ons + just installed ThunderMax.
Struggling a bit with the ThunderMax, as it a closed-loop auto tuner. Getting much higher AFR on the rear cylinder than front.
What would you suggest for number of plates, L/R side?
Thank you very much!

Sounds like your fuel management, not a pipe issue.

thanks for the reply.
yes, I would say that too. however, what disc configuration would you recommend?
thanks!

oops sorry.
the HD Screaming Eagle version of SuperTrapps, i believe the Fat Sotz?
thank you!

The HD FatShotZ have 10 discs with an "open" end cap, out of the box. Reducing the numer of discs by 5-6 should still provide more than enough flow for your build.

Thank you for your patience!
Got the info on the open ended setup. If I ran the closed caps, what would be the suggested number of disc's (and I know that it is not generally not the same number left and right side).
BTW, many thanks to SuperTrapp for providing this forum—best customer ability to quickly get answers to questions!

The headpipes on the '09 and later feed into a common collector and split back off givving the left & right a much more balanced flow than the earlier model headpipes, so the difference in the disc amount per side is not as critical.
14 discs (+ or - 2) and a closed end cap should work well on your machine.

Thanks so much! Appreciate the information. I will post on how it went!
