db level of 2:1 SuperMegs compared to HD SE II Pro Slip-on's

How does the sound db level of the 2:1 SuperMegs compare to the HD Scream'n Eagle SE II Pro Slip-ons? This is in reference to the SE II Pro's which HD stopped selling back in 2005 /2006.

I'm currently running the SE II Pro's on a mostly stock '06 TC88 Softail and considering the impacts / benefits of a tunable exhaust.

Wow, I thought the SE's were more than 2 - 3 db's over. Seems louder than that.

What options are available for a 2:1 pipe that can be tuned somewhere between stock and the SE II Pros? I've been running them for nearly five years and would like to quiet it down some, but not go all the way back to stock.

The packing in mufflers will deteriorate over time resulting in more sound, which you may be experiencing with your SE's.
You might want to look at our "Silent Series"; however these units are very close to stock.

Contact our Customer Service Department and tell them you want to order the core assemblies from our Double Espresso slip-ons (to put into your existing SE muffler bodies).

I'd like to know more about the Supermeg and how they compare with the Scream'in Eagle Pro II slip-ons. HD stopped selling the Scream'in Eagle Pro II's in May, 2006. They are basically a straight through muffler, with a steel baffle, which has a stall about 2/3rd in from the exhaust exit point. There's no packing in these mufflers. HD part numbers are 80444-03, 804445-03, 80447-03 or 80448-03, depending on style / cut (slash or baloney).

Would the Supermeg still be 2 - 3 db over?

I also noticed in this Supertrapp forum post, a db range for the Supermeg is given for 18 discs, closed-cap, of 90 and 102 and the Silent Series goes from 85 - 95db. For comparison purposes, what's the db range for stock?

I have a '06 with a 95" big bore, S&S 510G cams and thes Scream'in Eagle Pro II pipes. The bike is loud with this setup and I'd like to get it down a bit and go with a 2 into 1 solution. Any thoughts on the Supermeg sound level comparison? The baffles in the Scream'in Eagle Pro II pipes look very similar to this:

The stock db range is very comparable to the "Silent Series".

With any modification, even something as simple as a freer flowing air filter, the db level will increase. I don't think you can go wrong with the 2:1 SuperMeg for performance. It may be a little louder than stock; however it's the quietest "performance" pipe on the market. Deep throaty sound yet nothing obnoxious.
