In The Past I Have Always Used Kerker Mikuni Slip Ons & Various Tips. My Question Is I Recently Purchased The 2008 Flhtcui But I Noticed A Warning Not To Use The (#128-78045) Mikuni Slips On This Fuel Injection Models, Why?
My Plan Was To Use A Harley Stage 1 Filter Kit (using A K&n Filter), A Stage 1 Map Download, And The Kerker/mikuni Slip Ons Mentioned Above.
Is There Something I'm Missing ? Will This Damaged The Bike By Running To Lean Or Rich? Wrong Mapping?
Any Help Would Be Appreciated...................................

The Mikuni core slip-ons are very free flowing and shorter than the muffler body. If the engine is not tuned properly (runnig lean) the front part of the muffler body (where there is no core) may discolor do to excessive heat. These units were developed as part of the P.A.T. system years ago and are still popular with a lot of EXPERIENCED tuners.

So I Gather The Stage 1 Mapping Is Not Enough. Would I Need To Go To An Aftermarket Tuner, Or Harley's Race Tuner ?

 WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES IN PART # 128-78045 AND #128-78020? IS THE 128-78020 LESS FLOW THAN THE OTHER? HELP, I'M CONFUSED.

Core construction. P/N 128-78020 has the Standard Kerker "K-3" core. P/N 128-78045 has the Mikuni which flows more exhaust and is louder.

Harley's Race Tuner or another after market FI controller may work. If I decided to go with the Mikuni's my first order of business would be to find a reputable tuner (as in mechanic) that is experienced with these mufflers.
