Your experience will be appreciated in similar application
The engine is a JAP LTOW Vtwin 1100 cc with overhead valves
The engine is very noisy and I am looking at replacing the existing straight exhaust pipes with supertrapp silencers
It is mounted on an old Morgan three wheeler however same engine could also be fitted on a motorbike
Thank you for your reply

A Morgan? Not many of those around, not to mention the JAP motor in it!

http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/universal/index.asp

Here's a link to our universal page, any of the SC Elite models, Superlight, or the Megaphones would work. Keep in mind that the more volume the muffler has the better it's ability to absorb sound.

Take a look and let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks.

It is model 449-1718 in black because the exhaust is black

The manual says that for smaller engine the discs shall have an OD of 3 "

Are they to be purchased in addition to the part referenced above

Thank you for your help

449-1718 would be a good choice, it utilizes the 4" discs and comes with them.
It has no mount brackets however, you can purchase a center pull clamp, part number; 095-3500 to go with it.

Don't know what 'manual' you are looking in, but typically 3" discs are used on smaller engines yes (150-500cc). The 4" is better suited for your application though.

and another query!

I have taken measurement on the car. There is about 20 mm clearance between the 2"OD exhaust pipe and the body where the silencer is inserted

This clearance increases from 20 mm to 100 mm over a distance of 500 mm

Do you think that the supertrapp will fit ?

Regards

449-1718; the inlet on the muffler is about 2" long, then the body is 3.5" od for majority of the body before tapering out to 4 nearer the end.
I don't think that would fit your papplication.

What might be better is the Universal Megaphone; 425-2000 might be a better choice for you?

cannot find the length in the catalog?

Is there any accessory that you recommend me to purchase for proper mount on the car?

425-20000 is a 19" long body.
