View Full Version : Sportster Header

I have a 'Trapp for a shovel I race. I've upgraded to a sportster based dragbike. All I need is the 2 into 1 collector for the sportster (89). If I can buy just the collector, what is the part number and cost?

The only 2:1 we have for the 89 is the stainless unit, it has smaller 1 5/8 primary tubes, they might be a little small for your application????
May want to look into custom building one-sorry.

The motor I have is a 77" with S&S heads. which are direct replacements for stock. Does that help? The big question is, can I use the megaphone from the shovel with the header pipe of the Sportster?

If the megaphone and the collector are the same size, then sure you can use it, brackets and such is another issue.

Typically, on a Drag application, you want to use larger diameter head pipes, that is what I was refering earlier.

What is the size of the collector where the 'phone slips on to it? I understand what you are talking about a larger header. The bike has dragpipes on it now. With my past experience with the big twin, I'm willing to bet I can pick up 10 horses and 5 pounds of torque with the trapp. I'm willing to try it. I'm just trying to save a little money by using to 'phone I already have. Racing costs $$$$$. Brackets are no issue, We make anything fit. Al

The collector is 2".
Part number is 050-0949, they are 344.20 for just the head pipe, you can order thru customer service at 216-265-8400 x128, expect about a 4week delivery.
