I own a 2006 VROD (VRSCD), and I bought the SuperTrapp exhaust. I've been experiencing issues with my bike surging. I took it to the local Harley Davidson shop and they claim that the problem is with the exhaust.

I've tried using the pipes with and without a Power Commander, and I still have the same problem either way. I even took the bike to have a custom map made for it (Power Commander Tuning Shop), and the shop wouldn't touch it, since the bike surged. They told me to get the surging fixed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Craig

Have you put the stock pipes back on? If so, was it still surging?

That's my next step... I plan on doing it this weekend. I posted here, just hoping that someone might have ran into the same issue, and had a quick fix. No such luck. Thanks for responding.

I placed the stock pipes back on the VROD, and it runs fine...

Now that the surging is gone take the pipes and your Power Commander to your tuner. You may be running into a lean condition which usually shows up as a shutter/studder rather than a surge. If that's the case the tuner & the PC should be able to eliminate the condition.
