Hi there

I took delivery of my new 4" Stouts and removed the V&H Monster Ovals that were installed by the previous owner. They were fairly tight on the standard head pipes (09 Electra Glide Ultra Classic).

Just wondering the Stouts line up perfectly and also the rear mounting bracket line up as well, but compared to the MO's they are quite loose (ID of the inlet) on the head pipe. I've torqued up the clamps to specs and they feel tight but would I need to use some form of heat resistant muffler putty on the head pipe and in the ID of inlet on the Stouts to be sure?

Cheers

You shouldn't need to; we have NOT had any leaking issues with them.
Make sure the clamps are over the relief cuts during tightening.

Hi there

After fitting, checking torque settings and waiting for a good day for a test ride (middle of Winter here in Victoria, Australia) an opportunity came up this afternoon and I took the Glide out for a 40 klm run.

I have to say how pleased I am with the Stouts and I reckon there is more responsiveness in the throttle and a touch more power.

Fantastic!
Cheers.
