View Full Version : SE slip ons need re-packing?

I've run my Supertrapp SE slip ons on my 2008 FLHTCUSE3 for about 7500 miles. They have been getting louder and louder for the last 3k miles or so. I bought the SE's because they were quieter than most others for the performance and it is now unacceptable. Why is this happening? Can SE's be repacked with fiberglass or other materials? If so, what material do you recommend and are there instructions anywhere on line?

Unlike most of our core assemblies the SE's are NOT servicable. The SE's are constructed with fiberglass packing; however rely more on the chambered baffle inside the core to quiet the muffler. If you pull the core assembly out of the muffler body you'll find it to be of a cartridge type, enclosed within a welded sleeve. The SE cores can be purchased as a unit or replaced with a Kerker "servicable" core assembly. Please contact our Customer Service department for options and further questions.
